Hey! It's National Zipper Day!

Can you believe I almost missed this?  Actually, I never heard of it before.  But, if you think about it, we should all be very thankful for the common zipper.  Think of how many things are made easier ever since Gideon Sundback received his patent for the "Hookless Fastener" on April 29th, 1917.

Here are some ideas to celebrate (which I know you are dying to do!):

Of course, the best way to celebrate national zipper day is to sew with zippers.  Don't know how?  Oh, you must learn!  They aren't as scary as you think and they give a wonderful finish to so many items.  There are plenty of great tutorials online.

Not sure what to make?  How about a car seat canopy?  (I couldn't resist.)
